luce had 2 children, peter paul , henry luce iii, first wife, lila hotz. in 1935 married second wife, clare boothe luce, had 11-year-old daughter, ann clare brokaw, whom raised own. died in phoenix, arizona in 1967. according henry luce foundation, @ age 68 died of cardiac arrest while visiting home on fishers island, new york. @ death, said worth $100 million in time inc. stock. of fortune went henry luce foundation. during life, luce supported many philanthropies such save children federation, metropolitan museum of art , united service china, inc. interred @ mepkin plantation in south carolina.


he honored united states postal service 32¢ great americans series (1980–2000) postage stamp. mr. luce inducted junior achievement u.s. business hall of fame in 1977.
