wingfield became vice-president of universal cookery , food association . in around 1890 founded culinary society called le cordon rouge intended further development of science of cookery. @ same time, active again inventor , experimented bicycles. created new type of bicycle called butterfly , developed form of bicycling riding in unison several riders tunes of martial music.
on 22 november 1902 edward vii made wingfield member of royal victorian order (mvo) extraordinary, important , personal services sovereign , royal family. , 32 years of faithful service.
wingfield lived @ 112 belgrave road, pimlico, london time , died @ 33 st georges square, london (a blue plaque commemorates this) @ age of 78 , buried in kensal green cemetery. inducted international tennis hall of fame in 1997 contribution tennis. wingfield restaurant @ england club named in honour.
wingfield married alice lydia cleveland, daughter of general. survived him many years , died in asylum in november 1934.
