15th , 16th centuries

forfeited in 1493, castle passed macians of ardnamurchan.. macians cadet branch of macdonalds, , suffered when clan punished 1501-1506 insurrection of black donald; castle transferred branch of campbells. in 1545, however, macdonald holdings in islay , jura restored them.


17th century
