history

the building opened on 21 august 2006, next site of temporary terminus had been in use past thirteen months. new interchange built in conjunction extension , upgrade of adjoining golden square shopping centre, , replaced previous bus station dated 1979.


the interchange consists of 19 departure stands, numbered 1 19, of employ drive-in reverse-out layout. each stand has computerised information screen ties real-time information system. stands served main concourse building, contains toilets, 2 coffee shops, , combined travel , tourist information office. there access shopping centre via escalators , lifts. exits on eastern side of building lead onto winwick street, on can found taxi rank , warrington central railway station within around 100 metres.
