since then, route has remained unchanged apart reconstruction projects on years have straightened of sharper curves cutting terrain. evident in tunica, bypassed curve still exists crescent road, , in area west of la 969. junction 61 has been moved 0.2 miles (0.32 km) north parish road 265 following original alignment there.


in 1988, entire route of la 66 designated state legislature tunica trace scenic byway within louisiana scenic byways program. officially opened scenic route in october of year dedication ceremony included representative of tunica-biloxi indian tribe. government of west feliciana parish changed highway s local name generic angola road tunica trace highlight route s history.
