team gurren/team dai-gurren

team gurren first created kamina in giha village. however, @ time, made of few boys village, simon , kamina, tried various attempts @ getting surface. simon , kamina (accompanied yoko) later reached surface, , traveled littner village. there, kamina stole gunmen beastmen, , left find gunmen base, along yoko , leeron newest members of team gurren. along way, team gurren met black siblings, refused join.

later on, rossiu, gimmy , darry aday village joined team gurren, , made way local hot springs resort. there, team gurren met female members of black siblings once again. resort turned out beastmen-run gunmen, , black siblings , team gurren worked defeat them, acquiring mysterious old coco new member during chaos.

after incident, viral , dai-gunzan met team dai-gurren, , gurren lagann fought fortress gunmen. simon , kamina defeated dai-gunzan, rescued dayakka in personalized gunmen. rest of team dai-gurren rescued group of gunmen kittan, eldest black sibling, had custom gunmen. simon able trick dai-gunzan , collapse bottom of gorge, , returned find people had heard of kamina stealing gunmen, copied him, , assembled join team. later managed steal dai-gunzan, @ price of kamina s death, , became new base of operations team. led simon, decided go teppelin , defeat spiral king.

from point on, many others have joined team dai-gurren, including nia, , large force of humans, saw simon s success in defeating divine general guame, joined offensive against teppelin.

the symbol of team dai-gurren flaming red skull kamina s signature red sunglasses. however, after timeskip, members wear simple 5-pointed star, have become key members of earth s new government. high-ranked members wear 2 stars in chest, , simon, being commander-in-chief, wears three. rossiu wears large 1 on in epilogue shaped similar simon s glasses; indicator of rank (he s president) or possibly government s official logo.

dayakka littner (ダヤッカ・リットナー, dayakka rittonā) former leader of littner village, abandoning post, when of littner joined team dai-gurren. gunmen dayakkaiser, after seizure of dai-gunzan, acted captain of dai-gurren during battles, while kiyoh piloted dayakkaiser in stead. after timeskip, discover dayakka appointed minister of food affairs kamina city, , , kiyoh have married , expecting child. threat of anti-spirals, dayakka resigns post , returns duties in team dai-gurren.

gimmy adai (ギミー・アダイ, gimī adai) boy aday village, used cared rossiu. name seems similar japanese word right (右 migi). when 3 new children born village, population exceeded limit of 50, mandated 2 people removed , sent surface. since gimmy , darry had no parents, village elder chose them leave village, however, rossiu decided go them. pair of twins have bond each other, , left own devices around dai-gurren, except when older girls, such yoko or nia. after timeskip, gimmy , darry become important grapearl pilots, fighting together. gimmy tends more impulsive , reckless, puts duo in trouble. throughout series, s shown fear leeron, running in terror in first portion, , later continue distance himself @ first sign of leeron s flirtation .

after nia vanished, simon hands down lagann s core drill gimmy , in epilogue, seen alongside darry, not commanders of grapearl squad, new pilots of gurren lagann.

kiyoh littner (キヨウ・リットナー, kiyō rittonā) (born kiyoh bachika (キヨウ・バチカ, kiyō bachika)) oldest of kittan’s younger sisters. in episode six, when fighting way out of enemy gunmen, shown possess combat ability. helping out in dai-gurren s control room until episode 13, when starts aiding in frontlines, piloting dayakka s dayakkaiser gunmen, begins use when dayakka begins command aboard dai-gurren.

after timeskip, discover kiyoh , dayakka have married, , kiyoh gives birth daughter, whom names anne. anne happens newborn makes human population reach 1 million, , born, human extermination system begins.

kinon bachika

kinon bachika (キノン・バチカ, kinon bachika) second oldest of kittan’s younger sisters. after team dai-gurren’s capture of dai-gunzan, takes position within control tower, monitoring radar. seems calmest , smartest member of black siblings.

after time-skip, becomes 1 of rossiu s main supporters. after simon offered himself protect city using gurren lagann, after being sentenced death, kinon volunteered pilot gurren , rig herself bombs inside cockpit, claiming detonate them, killing , simon in process, in case of him making attempt escape. later, revealed kinon s resolve follow rossiu, despite betraying simon , ordering execution, not fruit of feelings him, because witnessing how difficult rossiu it, , fact didn t personal gains, because circumstances forced him it.

after stopping rossiu committing suicide simon s help, stays on earth aid him on administration of kamina city, while simon , rest of team dai-gurren head off face anti-spirals.

old coco (ココ爺, koko-jii) mysterious, silent old man leads team gurren hot springs resort in episode six. although tricks group entering beastmen s trap, helps kamina later on letting him onto beastmen gunmen. gets caught team dai-gurren, , follows around, although nobody seems notice him. seems incredibly hard notice, point of saving nia in episode eleven, , disappearing again before realises gone. timeskip reveals in fact beastmen in charge of taking care of nia, , continued after no longer princess of teppelin.

old coco s voice heard once in last episode, when greets nia after returns home, , gives wedding dress made.

zorthy kanai

tetsukan littner (テツカン・リットナー, tetsukan rittonā) member of control team dai-gurren. in charge of monitoring condition of ship. after timeskip, becomes part of leeron s science team. due being attracted fast-food restaurants built in new city became obese. in alternate universe scenes in episode 26, tetsukan seen sleeping in bed cybela, implying 2 involved in relationship, or 1 (or both) of them desire be. in epilogue, seen working under viral s command alongside cybela.
