the sale of dana college investment group collapsed. on june 30, 2010, dana college board of regents elected cease operations, citing multimillion-dollar deficit.


on july 14, 2010, dana college board of regents wrote in letter alumni , supporters firm in our belief politics, not substance , reason, drove ultimate decision. attempts made students, faculty, staff, alumni , other supporters of dana college influence higher learning commission reverse decision failed.

midland university of fremont, nebraska, allowed former dana college students transfer dana college credits; honored dana academic, athletic , need-based scholarships , grants; , waived enrollment deposits dana students. of 600 dana students, approximately 275 enrolled @ midland in fall of 2010.


in 2013, midland university, experiencing increasing enrollment , considering expansion, leased dana campus option of purchasing it. in 2016, however, midland announced not re-open dana campus, concentrate expansion efforts in fremont , omaha. according midland press release, high maintenance costs , complicated path accreditation dissuaded them carrying through plans blair site.
