although crimson tide led arkansas 3 touchdowns late in third quarter, razorbacks rallied tie game @ end of regulation , win on field goal in second overtime period final score of 34–31. arkansas took 7–0 lead after matt jones scored touchdown on 39-yard run on opening drive of game. after david carlton missed 32-yard field goal on second possession, alabama tied game on drive ensued when brodie croyle threw 16-yard touchdown pass triandos luke. after carlton missed second field goal of game in second quarter, chris balseiro gave razorbacks 10–7 lead on next possession 38-yard field goal. crimson tide responded on next possession 48-yard brian bostick field goal time expired tie game 10–10 @ halftime.
