the state bureau of investigation, annual budget of on $35 million, 1 of larger employers of state. fiscal year 2009, bureau authorized 334 full-time employees.



requirements

in order employed special agent osbi, individual must, @ time of employment, @ least 21 years old , must have bachelor s degree accredited college or university. neither osbi commission nor osbi director have authority waive these requirements. in addition, employees must persons of outstanding honesty, integrity , ability.


promotions

all promotions agent ii higher ranks based on tests administered osbi director, in consultation administrator of oklahoma office of personnel management. in general, following minimum requirements needed obtain following ranks:



agent - no law enforcement experience
agent ii - 1 year of investigative law enforcement experience
special agent - 3 years of investigative law enforcement experience
assistant special agent in charge - 3 years of law enforcement experience
special agent in charge - 2 years of experience supervisor of investigative unit.
division director - 4 years of law enforcement experience 2 years of supervisory experience

the positions of osbi director , deputy director in unclassified service of state. appointed osbi commission without consideration classified employees of osbi. classified agent appointed director or deputy director eligible return position in classified service without loss of benefit or salary. in order eligible appointed osbi director, individual must:



be professional law enforcement officer @ least 5 years in law enforcement
have @ least 2 years experience in administrative position law enforcement agency

the qualifications of deputy director same director.


pay structure

as established oklahoma law, director, deputy director , division director executive , special agent in charge salary increases only, effective july 1, 2014, annual salaries osbi law enforcement agents follows:
