a new house built in brick faced stone in 1776-80. main house similar in design villa capra canted corners. has octagonal main block of 2 storeys, cupola on round central drum above central circular hall. estate situated on hill, main façades facing northwest, northeast, southeast , southwest. each of 4 main façades dominated loggia decorated 4 giant tuscan columns spanning both main floors, entablature , cornice above. each canted corner had single-storey entrance portico 2 ionic columns , balcony above, leading corner room, diagonal corridors leading circular central hall.

the house surrounded @ each diagonal 4 identical two-storey rusticated pavilions, forming cour d honneur surrounded brick wall. courtyard surrounded landscaped park north, east , south. southwestern entrance courtyard decorated 2 obelisks, remain in place. route through park northeast towards desna river decorated sculptures, ending hill surmounted large statue of, originally, catherine ii , later replaced 1 of apollo, melted down in 1919.

the main entrance northwest, leading church of st. peter metropolitan, tomb of nikita demidov located. model village of petrovskoye laid out nearby.
