tattersalls club three- , four-storeyed building frontages edward street , queen streets.


the edward street facade in classical revival style , in materials , detail linked neighbouring ascot chambers. central 3 bays on upper 2 levels have flanking giant order pilasters, double pilasters, @ each end. 2 outer sections have arched openings on top level , cantilevered balcony cast iron railings. below cantilevered steel awning building has modern shopfronts each side of arcade.


the later queen street facade in art deco style , comprises 3 bays separated giant order pilasters. parapet has name tattersalls club. building has stone facing on concrete frame. recent additions aluminium sun-hoods windows of upper 2 levels. below building s cantilevered awning modern shopfronts. recent renovation of arcade has seen reinstatement of daphne mayo frieze above shopfronts.


the upper floors of edward street building contain main hall. ornate fibrous plaster vaulted ceiling supported on timber trusses spans hall , wall contains frieze daphne mayo. upper gallery contains barber shop, turkish baths, card room, reception rooms , library. dining hall located on upper floors of queen street building has 10.7 metres (35 ft) high ceiling , walls decorated in grey , white marble. space features wall paintings local artists. arcade on ground floor dates 1990 refurbishment.
