in new hampshire, significant flood struck cocheco, baker, pemigewasset, contoocook , merrimack rivers on october 23 established records @ lowell held until 1902. androscoggin river flooded significantly, destroyed many homesteads in become bethel, maine. survived flood moved uphill less valuable, 100-acre (0.40 km) plots. turner s first mill destroyed during inundation.
