collinsite translucent , brown, chocolate-black, light brown, yellowish white, white, or colorless. colorless in thin section , light yellow-brown colorless in transmitted light. zincian variety of collinsite pale blue. mineral can occur fibrous habit, globular aggregates of crystals, concentrically layered botryoidal masses, or bladed or prismatic crystals 2 cm (0.79 in).
