anandamaya means composed of ananda, or bliss. in upanishads sheath known causal body. in deep sleep, when mind , senses cease functioning, still stands between finite world , self. anandamaya, or composed of supreme bliss, regarded innermost of all. bliss sheath has fullest play during deep sleep: while in dreaming , wakeful states, has partial manifestation. blissful sheath (anandamaya kosha) reflection of atman truth, beauty, bliss absolute.

just each of 5 elements (earth, water, fire, air, , ether) appear in corresponding subtlety among each of 5 senses intellect cognizes ever subtler causes , effects @ play through each of 5 sheaths.


for example, annamayakosha, coarsest sheath, based in earth element, guarded ganesha, while subtlest sheath anandamaya based in quanta/ether element, , guarded black disc of utter darkness on sun, can removed ganesha.
