organisational setup

the secretary (road transport & highways) assisted joint secretary (road transport),director general (road development),financial advisor,advisor(transport research).
joint secretary looks after transport administration, public grievances, vigilance road safety , co-ordination & public relations
accounts wing headed chief controller of accounts responsible accounts budget, work , study.
advisor (transport research) renders necessary data support various wings of ministry policy planning,transport co-ordination,economic , statistical analysis on various modes of transport ministry concerned.
director general (road development ) responsible development & maintenance of national highways apart central sector roads , central road funds.

extends technical , financial support state government development of state roads , roads of inter-state connectivity , national importance.
setting standards building , maintenance of roads , bridges.
archiving important technical knowledge generated through projects , r&d.

transport wing

main responsibilities of transport wing are:



motor vehicle legislation
taxation of motor vehicles
compulsory insurance vehicles
promotion of transport co-operatives in field of motor transport.
setting national road safety standards
compiling data on road accidents , evolving road safety culture among people in country
providing grants ngos in accordance laid down guidelines.

1 history 1.1 world war ii 1.2 korean war 1.3 vietnam war 1.4 gulf war & 1990s 1.5 global war on terror , beyond 1.6 f-35b lightning ii joint strike fighter era history world war ii squadron s logo when vmf-121 marine fighting squadron 121 (vmf-121) activated on june 24, 1941. green knights began combat operations flying f4f wildcat , later f4u corsair charter members of cactus air force , throughout battle of guadalcanal. squadron fought forward air bases of espirito santo, turtle bay, bougainville, , emirau. on september 15, 1944, green knights landed on peleliu , fought there until july 25, 1945. returned united states deactivated on september 9, 1945. during pacific war, vmf-121 produced fourteen fighter aces, more other squadron, including medal of honor recipient, major joseph j. foss. vmf-121 downed 208 japanese aircraft (165 flying wildcats , 44 flying corsairs) in aerial combat. after world war ii, squadron reactivated in united states @ naval air station glenview, illinoi...
