History Emblem of Mongolia
from 1960 1991, mongolian people s republic used emblem similar shape, several differing elements. instead of wind horse, horseman on normal horse shown. in background, sun rises above mountains. buddhist symbols replaced symbols of socialism. gearwheel stands industrialization, sheaves around perimeter stand farming class, , top featured red star socialist version of soyombo. along bottom, blue-red ribbon placed in front of gearwheel, letters БНМАУ, abbreviation Бүгд Найрамдах Монгол Ард Улс, (mongolian people s republic).
before 1961, emblem did not bear of socialist symbols. horseman carried long lasso pole , heads of 4 types of herd animals shown on sides. red ribbon @ bottom bore name of country in traditional mongolian alphabet between 1940 , 1941 cyrillic abbreviation after that.
from 1924 1939, emblem soyombo. in 1939, after victory in battle of khalkhin gol, branches of nelumbo added.
