after time @ unlv, hunkie believed football career over, took job @ las vegas area casino. tried playing in canadian football league, not successful. 1 day @ work, arizona rattlers director of player personnel pete kettela asked him if sign contract rattlers organization.


1993–1997

cooper arrived @ camp fourth string receiver worked way depth chart. end of year selected league mvp, , all-star offensive specialist while breaking afl record kickoff return yards 1423 yards.


in 1994, cooper helped take team first arenabowl appearance, won 36–31.


in 1996, year after making transition 2 way receiver , linebacker, selected star once again.


in 1997, cooper second team star selection. helped lead team second arenabowl win , voted ironman of game after catching 30-yard touchdown pass, returning kick touchdown, , returning interception touchdown.


1998–2001

he voted tinactin ironman of year, second team all-arena - wr/lb, , all-ironman team in 1999. again voted tinactin ironman of year, first team all-arena - wr/lb, , all-ironman team - wr/lb, in 2000.


in 2001, again selected all-ironman team - wr/lb , first time first team member of 15th anniversary team - wr/lb.


2002–2005

on march 20, 2002, cooper re-signed rattlers. helped lead team 3 consecutive appearances in arenabowl.


cooper began 2005 season on injured reserve, missing first 2 games of season quadriceps injury. retired after being cut.


retirement

after being cut rattlers in 2005, decided retire. on may 6, 2005, arizona rattlers retired #14. cooper elected arena football hall of fame in 2011 class.
