the cross fire department 1 of larger fire districts in county, covering 90 square miles (230 km) of berkeley county. proudly serve cross area historic because of creation of lake marion , lake moultrie part of santee cooper project of 1940s. cross fire department consists of 16 volunteer members, 3 stations, 7 apparatus, , respond 500 calls year.

goose creek rural:

the gcrfpd district encompasses of unincorporated areas of goose creek north charleston city limits area south of strawberry shortstop on highway 52, entire industrial area bushy park road, , many areas along or off highway 176 rear entrance of alcoa (formerly alumax) facility.

gcrfpd encompasses on 600 residences, 5 shopping center/strip malls, goose creek high school, middle school, intermediate school, 2 elementary schools, , 11 apartment/condominium complexes.

gcrfpd provides coverage following industrial facilities: bayer, allstate, crane linton mechanical, alcoa, dupont

gcrfpd presently serve full-time population of 16,500 residents on budget of $500,000. population not include naval weapons station complex borders our primary response area.

pimlico rural volunteer fire department:

the pimlico volunteer fire department made of dedicated members of community. district encompasses areas bordering rail tracks off of highway 52, , length of old highway 52. pimlico fire district includes residential neighborhoods, commercial , manufacturing facilities, farmland, wetlands, , forest. operating out of 1 station approximately 15 members, department responds approximately 150 calls service per year. pimlico volunteer fire department cooperates on calls fire departments of surrounding communities, , remains 1 of dedicated volunteer departments in berkeley county.
