1) no. 6 squadron (antelopes)

the squadron formed without aircraft or equipment on 14 august 1947 @ maripur, karachi, under first commanding officer, flight lieutenant m. j. khan. on 16 august 1947, air officer commanding air vice marshal[who?] visited squadron , commissioned heavy airlifting , airborne operations. paf acquired douglas dc-3 dakota aircraft on 22 october 1947 , later obtained bristol freighter, tiger moth, , auster aop.9 aircraft. on 29 june 1948, detachment of squadron provided guard of honour @ mauripur governor-general muhammad ali jinnah on arrival quetta. on 9 september 1948, 3 dakota aircraft performed flypast @ quaid-e-azam s funeral ceremony


in 1965 indo-pakistani war antelopes dropped parachute commandos indian territory in night-time mission involving 3 c-130b transports. before 1965 war started, squadron s commanding officer, wing commander eric gordan hall, had idea of making paf s deficiency in heavy bombers modifying hercules carry bombs.[2] converted carry 10,000 kg of bombs, rolled out on pallets rear ramp, , on 21 night-time bombing raids flown against indian forces approaching battles of chawinda , pul kanjari. support missions troops in northern areas continued after war.[citation needed]


with unstable political situation @ end of 1970 , resulting civil unrest, antelopes moved large number of troops east pakistan , assisted in flood relief operations there. india stopped paf flying on territory in 1971, , squadron had fly east pakistan via sri lanka. 2 of unit s c-130 transports deployed dhaka march 71 until 1971 indo-pakistani war began on 3 december 1971. used evacuate soldiers , civilians hostile areas of east pakistan – in 1 sortie single c-130 evacuated 365 people sylhet dhaka. during 1971 war, no. 6 squadron flew bombing missions west pakistan in same manner flown during 1961 war, , no transport aircraft lost during these sorties


2) no. 12 squadron (globe trotters)

made no. 12 composite squadron in september 1953, squadron consists of paf s elite air crafts amongst includes phenom 100 , gulf stream iv.


3) no. 10 mrtt squadron (bulls)

established no. 10 multi-role tanker transport (mrtt) squadron delivery of paf s first il-78 in december 2009 , operating paf base chaklala.


4) no. 41 squadron

the squadron consists of cessna, beech, y-12 amongst other planes play role in operational aspects.
