the laya @ diwa brass artwork displayed @ main entrance don severino de las alas campus in indang meant represent university s vision of truth, excellence , service . monument creation of jonnel p. castrillo of imus, cavite. inaugurated on december 15, 2006 senator edgardo j. angara on occasion of university s centenary celebration.


there 5 basic elements in artwork symbolic figures, subject 1 s interpretation. first unchained female figure, holding book, arms interlocked male figure. male figure holds pen , torch. flame of torch carries letters cvsu cavite state university. child figure, in dynamic pose atop pillar behind male & female figure, reaching out dove, universal symbol peace , freedom.


the central pillar rooted in history depicted murals on sides of base. murals show important historical events took place in province of cavite , throughout philippines showing filipino s life , spirit under imperial spain , other colonizers including continuing struggle freedom , independence. laya @ diwa mounted on cvsu logo-shaped base.
