2008 campaign for United States Senate Bruce Lunsford




primary election

on january 29, 2008, lunsford announced run in democratic primary in hopes of facing mitch mcconnell in general election senate in november 2008. said had been asked run kentucky governor steve beshear , did not expect spend millions had spent on campaign in previous elections.


on may 20, 2008, lunsford won democratic nomination senate. received 316,763 votes (51%), followed greg fischer s 209,662 votes (34%).
